People and communities in need throughout North Somerset are going to be supported thanks to £2.8m of funding we’ve received in partnership with local organisations.

We’ve received the combined bid for £2,836,811 from the UK Community Renewal Fund to invest in skills, communities and businesses, and support local people into employment.

Four successful projects will be delivered during the first half of next year. These are:

  • Enabling Thriving Places in North Somerset
  • North Somerset Community Hubs
  • North Somerset Works Together
  • Supporting Business in North Somerset.

We invited, assessed and selected the bids which were sent to the Government for consideration.

These were prioritised by the greatest potential to deliver local growth priorities, such as investment in skills, local business, communities and place, and supporting people into employment.

The national £220m UK Community Renewal Fund will provide funding to help places across the UK prepare for the introduction of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund next year, which is replacing EU Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF).
